This January, City Mission is proud to host Courageous Conversations on Racism as part of our Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Learning. This will be an intergenerational event that is designed to empower participants with the tools to have brave conversations around the issues of race. Dr. King knew that it took courage for people to engage in dialogue that identifies the conditions that separate people from one another, and to identify the conditions that build understanding and unity. We invite you to join us for this event.

People 14 years of age and up will be able to participate in two experiential workshops. The first will unpack the elements of a courageous conversation and the second workshop will provide a space for people to practice using their new skills and resources. Children, ages 7 – 13, can choose from one of three options: arts & crafts, storytelling, or music. We will end the day together with a communal meal and deepen our learning of each other and this important work.
