A Lift Up (ALU) identifies and assists women with young children who are in danger of losing their housing. This two-year program uses research-tested strategies to interrupt the cycle of homelessness and enable low-income families to stay in their homes and move out of poverty.
ALU supports women in achieving goals that they set for themselves. This is done through individualized service plans, financial assistance, referrals to community resources, and advocacy to help these families maintain housing stability. The program also sponsors monthly Resource Group meetings that bring together the participants for job readiness training, educational preparation, and mutual support.
We are proud to report that in the four years of its existence, ALU has achieved a 95% success rate in keeping women and their children in their homes.
