For over 200 years, City Mission has been committed to the role of education in our society. Our roots go back to the establishment of the Sabbath Schools in downtown Boston and has continued today on educating the larger community on serving our most vulnerable neighbors.

City Mission invites our partner congregations to observe City Mission Sunday on April 7, 2019, or on a date that best matches your church calendar. We would appreciate the opportunity to tell your congregation more about City Mission and how we might minister together in the future. We are passionate about the work we do and would welcome the chance to share these stories with your congregation. Would you like to have a staff, board member, or former program participant visit your church to lead a coffee hour presentation or participate in worship?

We also hope that you will consider a special offering as part of your City Mission celebration. Church gifts are key in underwriting the educational and programmatic work we do each year. Gifts from churches allow us to engage the community and live out our mutual mission to support those in need.

We will provide you with liturgical resources, bulletin inserts, and collection envelopes to support your observance of City Mission. Materials will be mailed in advance. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Ruth Edens, Director of Development and Stewardship, at REdens@citymissionboston.org, or by phone, 617-742-6830 ext. 207.
